The DPTOP has begun offering new “express” routes to connect the cities of Tarragona and Reus with a single stop on the way, which cuts nearly seven minutes off the current journey time. The goal is to offer competitive services to meet the needs for mobility between the region’s two capitals. There will be 23 "express" runs to Tarragona daily, and 25 in the other direction, with a single stop at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. The current bus service, which links the two cities with more than five stops between them, has been restructured to accommodate the new service. From now on, express routes will be combined with conventional routes and run every 15 minutes.
