Today the Ministry of Town and Country Planning and Public Works (DPTOP) introduced six new journeys between Reus and Cambrils. The new runs will be offered from Monday to Friday and represent a significant increase in transit services currently offered between the two cities, in accordance with passenger demand. One of the runs will also serve the municipality of Vinyols i els Arcs, while the other two will travel along the Misericordia road, providing service to the housing estates in that area.

The DPTOP is adding new journeys to the network in order to improve public road transport service in the county of Baix Camp.

In keeping with this objective, public transit services offered between the cities of Reus and Cambrils will increase by six new journeys from Monday to Friday, three outgoing and three returning. One of these round-trip journeys will pass through the municipality of Vinyols i els Arcs, which will significantly improve its connections with the county town, Reus, and the municipality of Cambrils. The other four journeys will follow the Misericordia road, also providing service to the housing estates along the way.

With this improvement in the service between Cambrils and Reus, passengers have access to 24 round-trip journeys from Monday to Friday, in place of the 21 that had been available up to now.

From Reus, the new journeys will leave at 10 a.m. (passing through Vinyols), 4.15 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. and from Cambrils at 1.15 p.m. (passing through Vinyols), 2 p.m. and 9.15 p.m.

This action is included within the measures for improving the public transport network contained in the 2008-2012 Passenger Transport Plan of Catalonia approved by the government.

The provision of these new journeys, which do not imply any additional cost to the administration, will be managed by Empresa Plana and will make up part of the Camp de Tarragona public transport system in that they will be compatible with the public transport fare cards issued under the integrated fare system.
